IT STARTED WITH THE RIFFS.

Rebolt formed in the winter of 2004 as Powerage, inspired by the riffs, guitar solos and big choruses of AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, Iron Maiden and Danko Jones.

With different musical backgrounds, the members came together to play tight, energetic rock’n’roll. Frode Fossvold-Jørum (known as Frode Jørum during the Rebolt years) fronted the band, with Bård Browning Johansen (known as Bård Haatveit Johansen during the Rebolt years) on guitar, Knut Eirik Hult on bass and Kristian Dale on drums. Magnus Fosli Lillefjære joined on drums in 2008 when Kristian developed hearing problems.

Gigs around Norway followed, including support slots for Span, El Caco and Mustasch, and listeners began finding the band beyond Norway too.

Kroa in Bø was where so much of it happened. Frode and Knut Eirik both began there as volunteers and later worked in paid roles: Knut as a door supervisor and technician, and Frode as general manager for four years, from 2005 to 2009. The role gave Frode little influence over bookings.
